THE OLD BARN BOOK: BUILDING WITH STONE
Within these pages I’ve tried to organize a large amount of diverse material concerning the use of specific and general tools for stonework and timberwork, the physics of stones, woods and water, the design of such varied structures as fireplaces, stone arch bridges, foundations, barns, log cabins, fountains, wells, posts and beams. This presented quite a challenge. In addition to the general chapter headings to be used as a guide for anyone interested in stone work, I have included specific examples, questions, answers and discussions to provide a practical handbook to the reader.
